Ladies and gents, may I present Suzhou Canal. This one was quite a battle, especially with the water. I think I may have won. What do you think?
Happy Belated New Year Everyone! I had entered a few of my paintings in the All Women art competition at the Light Space & Time Online Gallery. My "Store Guardian" painting won a spot in the special merit category. You can check out the exhibition at https://www.lightspacetime.com/all-women-online-art-exhibition-january-2017/. In other news, I have added a store gallery to the website. There's still more to add, but you can check it out by clicking on the link to the left side of the webpage.
Hello all! It has been a while since my last post, but I have not been idle. Below are two of my latest finished paintings. I will be making a total of 8 watercolor paintings as a series from my recent trip to China. More good news, I will be opening my studio to the public on November 18th, 19th, and the 26th during the Holiday Pop-up Shop Event held in Hagerstown, MD. There will be paintings and prints for sale, a cool mural to view, and more vendors with unique items will be setting up shop in town. I will post more details on it as the date is closer.
This is the painting that I have been working on over the weekend. It is a picture that I took in Suzhou, China, a historic town with beautiful canals and original stone buildings.
I said that I would be posting here weekly and it has been a month. For shame. This past month has all been spent gathering materials and equipment while trudging through the relentless summer weather. For today, I spent my time painting as I had become too ensconced in planning to make any artwork recently. I will post my results tomorrow, but for now you can check out and like my new page on Facebook at www.facebook.com/artstudioredcat.
Hello everyone! I am going to try my best to keep this blog updated weekly with my works in progress. Over the weekend, I assigned myself with the task of getting this website finished, but I have had the chance to work on a couple of things.
First is my camera obscura project. I will have more details on that in a later post. For now, this is my current progress in its construction:
I also had some time to continue working on this painting. Eventually, it will have others to accompany it in a series.
That is all for now. With luck, I'll have to camera obscura up and running by the end of next week.
